Sydney Skyline From The Harbour – Sydney, Australia 2007
I really liked this shot. The goal was to get as little of the skyline as possible and emphasize the unique clouds that were forming over the top of the city. It was pretty cold out but we were on a boat tour of the harbour with a dinner cruise. Heather stayed inside and I went out in the chilly weather to try to snap a few quick ones. This one really stuck out.
Sydney Opera House From The Railing – Sydney, Australia 2007
Everyone has seen the Sydney Opera House 15,000,000 times from the same angles. My goal with most of my shots is to take a shot of a subject from a unique angle. I thought this was a good one to take it from. The waves were coming up over the right side in the harbour, so I had to snap it off quick to keep me and the camera from getting wet.
Begging Kids in Mumbai, India – 2003
They had us right where they wanted us. Marty, Akshay and I had just come from an ATM machine so we couldn’t use the ol’ standby of “we don’t have any cash”. I’m sure that was in their playbooks. A good tactic, and we’re certainly suckers for kids. We didn’t want to just give them money as a lot of times they just take it to someone else. We figured they’d like some food so we took them into one of the coffee shops and got them some donuts. Their eyes got pretty wide when we went in.
The shopkeeper tried to kick them out as he knew they were just begging, but we told him to let them stay and they picked out some big donuts. Here’s a shot of Marty in the shop with the kids.

Skitter Falls – Road to Hana, Maui, HI 2005
This one will always have some special meaning. It was a good find on our trip around Maui via the Road to Hana. We saw this waterfall from the highway and trekked in a little bit to see it. My goal with it was to catch the waterfall with a long shutter to smooth out the water, it worked nicely. I was knees deep in the water with my tripod and nearly fell over a time or 2, but the shot worked nicely.
