Deadwood Beach, Maui Hawaii

After the ride on our bikes down Haleakala in Maui, Hawaii, 2005, we stopped at this store to pick up lunch, but behind the store there was this beach that they didn’t tell us about - had some really nice looking views…

Lake Manyara, Africa - Dead Trees 2004

Another desolate shot of Lake Manyara showing the vast nothingness that surrounds the area.  A good ride and we could certainly see any wildlife that was headed towards us from literally miles away.

Lake Manyara, Africa - January 2004

It’s not often that you see a place so desolate that just goes on for miles and miles in every direction, but Lake Manyara was like that.  There was a lot of wildlife there, but it really made you realize how small you were.  The animals were all bigger than you, and you’re cruising around in this Land Rover type vehicle trust a guy you’ve never met in the middle of Africa to get you to where you needed to go.

Tulum Ruins, Mexico - 2004

I think this must have been during my “dark phase”.  I still like photos to look a little ominous, but when I first started with the darkness of them, I think I went a little overboard; so it often is with art though.  I’ve refined a lot of the techniques with them though.

Anywho, this was in Tulum, Mexico which is south of Cancun.  They’ve got some really excellently preserved ruins down there that made for some good shots.  These ancient Mexican folks really had a sweet view of the ocean, eh?tulum-mexico-dsc00130a_b
